Advocating for anti-bullying is important to LADYHOOD journey. I believe that by sharing my story and by others doing the same, we can end bullying together. We have come so far in our journey toward healing, and we are just getting started tackling bullying prevention.
#YOUBULLIEDME Days 1-15
In the last fifteen (15) days, we have answered some very tough questions and also focused on incorporating self-love techniques into our journey toward healing.
I feel so blessed to get to know and heal with all of you who are participating in this challenge. Some of the responses I have been given throughout days 1-15 are “this prompt was a trigger for me”, “I am loving this challenge”, “I don’t think I am going to share my response on social media today. It’s a little too personal”, and “thank you for allowing me to share my story.” Whether you have made the commitment to only journal, post on social media, or both, with every word you write or personally share with others, you are helping to heal from your past and to prevent bullying.
It has not been easy, but talking about bullying never is. It makes us feel vulnerable and exposed, but overcoming this, creates a transparent weapon that help us defeat and defy those who bullied us.

Despite being the creator of this challenge, I struggled answering many questions as well. I made the committment to push myself, so despite the content of my reponses, I shared them on social media. I wanted to challenge myself to share my story and experiences with all of you, because I believe by sharing, others feel empowered to share as well. The more that share their experiences with bullying, I believe, that this can help end bullying.
“No matter my fears, they will not stop me from sharing my truth, and I am so glad I did.”
I have learned so much about myself and all of you with every prompt of this challenge. I believe that this experience is making me stronger and I feel more empowered everyday. By ignoring the impact that being bullied had on me, I was not allowing room to grow or forgive, it only hindered it.
“Being silent for so many years gave my bullies power.”
I could not have imagined that I would have learned so many lessons, while completing each prompt, but I have. Here are some of the things that I have learned during days 1-15:
- I am capable of growth and enlightenment.
- I am able to forgive my bully.
- Bullying prevention matters.
- Sharing my story empowers others to share their own.
- I have support in my tribe and in others who have been bullied.
- I am not weak for admitting that I was bullied, I am strong because of it.

The biggest lesson this challenge is teaching me is that we are in this together. Yes, we all have different stories, but through sharing experiences, we grow stronger, together.
What to Expect
The next sixteen days (16) will not be easy, but don’t give up. Don’t doubt the process. Writing in a journal is a strong self-love practice, and it also helps the healing process. I hope you all have grown from this challenge so far, and I am looking forward to the connections we will make in days to come.
