Missing a dream

I don’t miss you, I miss who I thought you were.

I miss the dream…

The daydreams of you holding me tight as I fall asleep in your arms.

The romantic trips we never took.

Your eyes burning with desire for me.

The thoughts I had of us living happily-ever-after…

Our wedding day…

Date nights…

Family camping trips and vacations ….

Our kids first day of school…

Watching them turn from teenagers to adults….

I saw us growing old together.

Raising our kids as a happily married couple.

Showing them that love prevails…

The hardest thing is missing a dream!

Missing something you never got to see…

You were my living dream!

A living nightmare.

I still miss the thought, but I do not miss you.
