Day 13: 21-Day-Detox

I missed another workout. I feel like a failure but I decided to go out with friends and missed my alarm. But, a kid free night was just what mama needed. I wish I would have went a worked out this morning, but sometimes you just need to spend time with your girls and dance.

So that is what I did. I danced all night long. I danced until sweat was pouring from my face and my legs were aching. Not once, did I think about my failed relationship. I wasn’t trying to talk to any of the guys at the bar, I just wanted to dance. 

Dancing is also a great workout and can provide many other health benefits toward a healthier lifestyle. According to the Better Health Channel, here are some of the physical and mental health benefits to dancing:  

  • improved condition of your heart and lungs
  • increased muscular strength, endurance and motor fitness
  • increased aerobic fitness
  • improved muscle tone and strength
  • weight management
  • stronger bones and reduced risk of osteoporosis
  • better coordination, agility and flexibility
  • improved balance and spatial awareness
  • increased physical confidence
  • improved mental functioning
  • improved general and psychological well-being
  • greater self-confidence and self-esteem
  • better social skills.

Meals 

  • Day 13: Breakfast (forgot to take a picture) 
    • 3 Eggs
    • Sweet Potatoes
    • 4 scoops of #itworks Greens blend with 16 oz. Spring Water

 

  • Day 13: Lunch 
    • Small Chicken Salad (no dressing)
    • Spring mix
    • Spinach
    • Baby Carrots 
    • Tomatoes 
    • Onion 
    • Fresh Pineapple
    • Baby Carrots

  • Day 13: Dinner 
    • Stir Fry 
      • Steak 
      • Baby Carrots 
      • Onion
      • Garlic Cloves
      • Sweet Peppers 
      • Snap Peas 
    • Asparagus
    • Brown Rice


Self-love Affirmation

In the 77 Self-Love Affirmations To Inspire Your Life, by , number 54 touched my heart, “I release the need to judge myself and my body.” This affirmation reminded me that I have to speak words of self love into my life, throughout each day,  in order to sustain a positive body image.
