Day 1: 21-Day-Detox

Monday, June 26, 2017

The night before my first workout, I was extremely nervous. Not necessarily sure why, but I knew that this was something new and I didn’t want to let myself down. I let self-doubt creep in a bit, but I woke up feeling ready for whatever this experience had for me.

My first workout was challenging.

We started out running around the building 2X, which is about 8 blocks total, and then a circuit of various exercises that worked legs and abs. We used dumbbells, cowbells, ropes, free weights, and other things that only The Camp can offer. I am so tired and definitely need to stretch my muscles and get in enough protein, but looking forward to Day 2.

Meals/Recipes:

I decided that a part of my detox would be to do a juice fast for breakfast and lunch for the first 3 days. I did a meal prep the night before, so my shakes and smoothies were already prepared.

    • 1 tsp. Milled Flax Seed
    • 4 Lemon wedges with rine

    • 1 Pears
    • 4 scoops It Works! Greens blend

Self-love Affirmation:

Beauty is not about what size you are, it is about how you feel about you. Not how others feel you should look, how you feel you should look.

Daily Gratitude Log:

Here are the 5 things I am grateful for today

  1. The instructors at The Camp in Pittsburgh, PA … they pushed me and motivated me to push during my first workout. It was difficult, my body did things that I thought it couldn’t and I came out sweaty and happy.
  2. 5:15a. I have always hated getting up in the morning, but because of my schedule, I have to be up at 5:15a for my workouts at 6:00a. I have had the opportunity to be up when all is still and quiet. It is beautiful and I thank God for today.
  3. The support of my family and friends. It means so much to hear your prayers and your accountability.
  4. My daughter, my inspiration, my “why” and reason for focusing on my health.
  5. This opportunity is so amazing, and I cannot thank Tamica Wade for tagging me on the Facebook ad to try this 21-day-detox for only $21.
