at the Center of me…

At the center of my heart, there is a bubble.

a bubble filled with a dark cloud.

a dark cloud of worry, fear, concern, pain…

pain that floats inside my heart and aches…

aches due to inequality and disparities…

low-income and poverty vs. the rich…

the #blacklivesmatter movement vs. Law Enforcement…

…and the bubble grows….

white males vs. black males incarceration rates…

the KKK and other hate groups…

college tuition and debt…

immigration laws and THE WALL…

…and the bubble grows….

that Affirmative Action has to exist…

transgender bathroom laws…

public schools vs. private schools…

resources for older adults…

lower pay for women in the workplace…

please bubble, don’t break…

the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) unpaid Maternity & Paternity Leave…

marijuana legalization laws vs. the legalization of prescription drugs…

hate crimes against those in the LGBTQIAP+ community…

homelessness…

the 258 black people killed by police officers in 2016, 39 unarmed…*

…pop!

A continuous ache, beating at the center of my heart….

…you will be at the center, until we see full equality for all!

Welcome ladies and gentlemen! I am Pinkspen – BA|MSW, Professional Blogger, Feminist, Counselor, and Equality Advocate. I am the Founder of LADYHOOD journey. I created this brand to promote self-love, equal rights, healthy relationships, and health & wellness, and to also challenge social concerns like body shaming, beauty standards, and insecurities. I want women and all my readers to leave my site feeling uplifted, supported, and empowered. I love to spend time with my daughter, going to local bars and restaurants with family & friends, online shopping, photography, sipping Chia Tea or Iced Coffee, sitting on my porch while drinking a glass of wine or dark beer, and listening to music from artists like Alessia Cara, Jhene Aiko, Khalid, Frank Ocean, Coldplay, and Kings of Leon.
